Posted: May 3rd, 2010 | Author: Ryan | Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: az, race, sb-1070 | 1 Comment »It’s fun that SB-1070 is getting all this attention, but really, this bill didn’t change much. Say what you will about crime stats and “they have no business being here”, but as someone who HAS been pulled over at gun-point, or stopped on the street just because of my skin color, I can tell you that this shit’s been going on for ages.
Further more, I love how cops have had the time to stop me so they can harass me, but when actual violent crime transpired, it took them over an hour to get to us. And later on when we had proof of who stole our identities, they were “too busy” to take the information.
Normally I’m one for intellectual debate, but this is a case where you can never know what it feels like until it happens to you.
It’s a very frustrating and unfortunate situation. That being said, I’d say I’m the third-from-the-right crayon.
