“Get Inked or Get Dead”

Just read this article on INHABITAT, about a new MIT “invention” that uses nanoparticle-laced ink to create a constant blood-glucose monitor.

“Diabetes is an enormous problem, global in scope, and despite decades of engineering advances, our ability to accurately measure glucose in the human body still remains quite primitive,” says Strano, the Charles and Hilda Roddey Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering. “It is a life-and-death issue for a growing number of people.”

I imagine that if it was me, I’d get a number line tattoo on my forearm, sorta like when you’re in Algebra class.

Or maybe a barcode that I could scan and it would recommend what I need to eat to correct my sugar levels.

Randomness is my favorite

That’s why I found this picture and scheduled it for a totally random day in the future*.

*future being a relative term as this is no longer “the future” to you, it is most likely “the present” and very soon “the past” and hopefully someday the “remember that one time when Ryan posted something REALLY funny” and hopefull never (::fingers crossed::) the “that’s the last time I read this shit”.  Either way, I found this pic on 1/4/10.

** the date wasn’t really random.  I decided to pick a day that added up to 42.

This may be one of the smarter tattoos I've seen

The pen drawing is really pen drawing, the only tattoo is the polaroid outline.  Good job making a flexible tattoo.  I might have to get something like this.

Happy Valentines…. wait, you got me what?

This could be a deal breaker.

I mean…. not a walk-out-of-the-room deal breaker.

But probably, I’m only going to call you when I feel like I’m missing a “bat-shit crazy chick” in my life.

More Little Prince

I know I’ve been on this Little Prince kick for a while now.  Probably something about “growing up” that I need to explore.  Anyways, got this from fuckyeahtattoo.  Unrelated Funny Story: one time I was hanging out at a stranger’s weird apartment and the dude told me and my roommate that he had a tattoo on his leg, so he was cursed to always walk that road until he died, or lost his leg.  Whichever came first.

holy crap this is a detailed tat

I’m into cameras a lot, but not THIS into cameras.

I do, however, really like the contrast between the tattoo and the hazy depth-of-field background elements.

If I met this girl in real life, she might steal my heart.

if she has a penguin shirt on and/or quotes The Little Prince, I would lose my shit and prolly run away with her.

Yes, cupcakes are that legit with me.

Almost as good as the first one, if not as literal (literary, lol).

Another tattoo depicting my favorite children’s book, “The Little Prince”.

Whoa! No way.

a tattoo from my favorite Children’s book of all time.

I also credit this book with some of my “problems with authority” as I learned at a very young age that respect should be earned and not immediately given to adults just because of their age.

Also, when I was young, I really sucked at drawing and thought that it was also just because the audience couldn’t see what I saw.  Not sure how I became better 20 years later.
